Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) Surgery

CK eye surgery is a FDA approved treatment for presbyopia, the diminishing ability to focus at a variety of distances. Presbyopia begins after the age of 40 and is caused by the stiffening of the eye’s crystalline lens and the weakening of the muscles that move the lens.

Glaucoma Treatments
Glaucoma Surgery
The purpose of glaucoma surgery, whether it involves laser treatments or filtering microsurgery, is to reduce the intraocular pressure that causes glaucoma. The type and severity of your glaucoma and the health of your eyes will likely determine the course of treatment that Dr. Peña recommends in your individual case. During laser surgery, a tiny beam of light is used to help drain the trabecular meshwork, the eye’s drainage system, and reduce pressure in order to ease glaucoma symptoms. In his McAllen, Texas office, Dr. Peña may also recommend filtering microsurgery. This type of surgery utilizes a small surgical tool in order to create a drainage hole for intraocular fluids. This treatment is usually recommended when laser surgery is unsuccessful.
Glaucoma Medications
Glaucoma medications come in the form of eye drops or pills. These medications are intended to reduce the intraocular pressure that causes glaucoma.
